Hello my name is Larry. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Mathematics and MS in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. I tutor high school maths, SAT maths, College maths such as College Algebra, Precalculus, Linear Algebra, as well as Electrical Engineering courses and MATLAB. Mastering any skill requires practice. Exercises provide us an opportunity to practice our skill set, identify weaknesses, and areas for improvement. As a tutor, I am essentially your coach. Our one-on-one practice sessions will help you complete assignments, and prepare you for in class examinations as well as standard exams such as the SAT. Because I am a big believer in consistent practice, I encourage my students to practice daily even if its only for 15 minutes.

I have tutored high school maths, college maths, and engineering for a total of 4 years. Students find my approach to teaching insightful, because I site real world examples to make the material interesting and relevant. If you like this approach to teaching and need assistance you may reach out to me. Finally, how do you eat an elephant? Break it into small pieces. This problem solving method has worked for me, and I believe will also work for you.

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I obtained my BS in applied Mathematics with honors i.e. Magna Cum Laude. I am knowledgeable on every Algebra 1 topic including finding roots, calculating the discriminant, etc. My approach to teaching is to take complex looking problems and break them down into manageable small pieces.
Computer Engineering

Computer Engineering

I obtained my bachelors in Computer Engineering. I have worked in the area of VLSI design, and done transistor layout in CMOS 130nm technology. I am an expert in logic design, circuit theory, and have an extensive background in low level programming.
Differential Equations

Differential Equations

I obtained my MS in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech. I have taught courses in circuit theory. I have background in research and teaching.
Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering

I have an MS is electrical engineering. My expertise include basic circuit theory, discrete mathematics, power electronics, and analog/digital design. I am also proficient in CAD design tools including LTspice, Cadence, HFSS, and MATLAB. I have taught students how to use lab equipment including network analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, LRC meters, RF cages, and antenna testing systems.
Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra

I obtained my BS in Applied Mathematics with a focus on numerical methods. Numerical methods are techniques used to simplify computations. It involves linear algebra as well as methods for fast matrix computations. This discipline is applicable to computational science and engineering problems that involve simulations and iterations.
MATLAB

MATLAB

Used MATLAB for projects during my graduate program. Used MATLAB at my place of work. Also used MATLAB for scientific publications.
Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel

Excel is a power tool that I have used in analyzing and plotting my research data. Throughout my research projects, I have used macros or VB scripts to rapidly search massive data and graphically identify patterns. I have excel to generate box whisker plots, bar charts, nonlinear curve fitting, multi-axes plots, and much more.
Networking (Computer)

Networking (Computer)

Intern at Trinitech Consulting for 6 months and worked on several hands on networking projects. Enabling file and print sharing in windows, creation of shares, mapping of network drives, change hostnames of windows servers, change IP addresses from dynamic to static on windows systems, use “dcpromo” tool to configure DNS, Active Directory, as well as promote standard Windows servers to a domain controller. Configure windows servers to join domains, introduce windows servers into networks and LANs. Troubleshoot network connectivity and DNS issues in LAN using TCP/IP tools, and designed Network Diagrams using Cisco Packet Tracer.
Precalculus

Precalculus

Finding the limit of functions, evaluating functions, and finding the area under curves are some of the subjects that you might see in pre-calculus. Being able to visualize problems greatly simplifies pre-calculus. I teach my students how to approach problems by creating a mental picture and diagramming the problem. This approach makes pre-calculus fun and enjoyable.
Python

Python

I have used Python for several data science projects. I earned certifications in Python programming from DataCamp such as Statistical Thinking in Python. I have experience in using python libraries such as numpy, pandas, matplotlib, etc.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I obtained the highest SAT Math score at my high school, and earned a full scholarship to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. I took the SAT 3 or 4 times to improve my score. SAT Math requires strategy. Some problems can stun test takers. But there are tricks and tips to obtain a high score. The foremost is to pace yourself. Using the process of elimination is a valuable technique when you don't know the precise answer to a problem but have a rough idea.
Study Skills

Study Skills

I am an education coach specializing in STEM. After quickly identify the learning style of a student, I develop strategies to help them succeed such as using visual cues, managing time effectively, consistently reviewing notes and study materials, annotating text, and much more. Thereafter, I motivate students intrinsically by providing them with real world examples related to their studies.

Knowledgeable professional who is patient

Great session. I am looking forward to have more Sessions with Lawrence on ADS and HFSS usage. He has hands on knowledge and experience in using these tools that are rather difficult to learn.
