I have taught and tutored Organic Chemistry 1 and 2, as well as Chemistry (all levels), for the past 12+ years, having the pleasure of meeting, getting to know, and teaching hundreds of students. What I love about tutoring compared to teaching is the ability to work one-on-one at the pace the student needs. I am not always able to work one-on-one as a teacher, but being one helps me be flexible and know how to meet the needs of all types of students.

I requested Alex's help because of his high recommendations on Wyzant and because I received by first test grade in Organic chemistry 2 and it was a failing grade (69%). My organic chemistry 1 professor taught my class nothing and gave us answers for tests, therefore I had no real organic background and that was a huge problem. Alex deserves all his praise, he is an awesome tutor, he is extremely patient, incredibly thorough, and teaches in an expert way that makes this very hard subject very understandable. I looked forward to all of our tutoring sessions because I knew, with his teaching, I would be able to grasp the specific orgo 2 lesson I was learning that week. It was never awkward or uncomfortable, he made learning fun and comprehensible! 3 weeks after tutoring with Alex, I took my second orgo 2 test and I received a 97! My third test I got a 93 and on the final exam of the entire course I received a 98! The huge jump in my first test to my last 3 is extremely impressive to his tutoring skills, but to really emphasize his ability to teach, I have to reiterate the fact that I knew absolutely nothing from organic 1. And with no basis of the prerequisite, through Alex's teaching and a lot of hard work, I received an A in Organic chemistry 2. THANK YOU ALEX!!

Very patient and insightful!
Alex is a gem. I found him way, way too late in the semester but he’s helped me so much. Alex has forgotten more about organic chemistry than I’ll ever know, he’s absolutely brilliant. I found him very late into my first semester of orgo, yet he’s already helped me tremendously not only with actual concepts, but also with my confidence. I excited to continue to work with Alex over the summer and do well in orgo 2. Alex is so patient and so willing to help you with anything, no matter how small, basic, or silly. Alex was the first tutor I got on wyzant, and as far as organic chemistry is concerned, he’ll be the last.

My daughter was struggling with Organic Chem 1 so I reached out to Alex to see if could help her before the final exam. Even though he was busy, he found a way to accommodate her in his schedule. She just had two lessons but felt better and more confident. She said Alex explained well and made the concepts easy to understand. He was very organized, interactive, and made notes while explaining. She wishes she had taken lessons with Alex at the beginning of the semester. With exams in a week, she is hoping that the few lessons will help her perform well. She definitely had a wonderful experience and is looking forward to the next session.

Alex is an excellent tutor. Before I started my tutoring sessions this fall semester with Alex, I had gotten a very poor foundation in my Orgo 1 class barely passing with a C-. I got into Orgo 2 really uncertain that I could pull through. Working through the Orgo 2 concepts and even Orgo 1 sometimes with Alex really boosted my grades. From a 59, on my first test, I had an 88 and a 93 on my second and third exams respectively. And what's more, I did so well on my final exam bringing my final grade to an A-. I never dreamt of doing this well and it was all because of how well Alex guided me through all the concepts I needed for this course even with such a poor background in Organic Chemistry. He is patient and extremely flexible. He even helped through my Chem lab class and I felt really comfortable approaching my tests. Alex is simply an amazing tutor
