Welcome! I have 10 years of experience in education, seven of which are in Arabic education, and six of which are online where I helped develop an online Arabic program from 2019-2025. I have also been a Quran student for the past 6 years and look forward to completing my memorization this year inshaAllah. I learned recitation with proper tajweed at a young age, and I am able to comprehend the verses quite well Alhamdulillah.

I am of Egyptian origin, born and raised in the US. I received my high school diploma from the Islamic Saudi Academy in Virginia. I went on to earn my Bachelor’s degree in linguistics from the University of Maryland, College Park. Currently I am a student at Mishkah University in the certificate program for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers.

In addition to being of Egyptian descent and attending a private Islamic-Arabic school growing up, I have been in the field of Arabic education for the past seven years, both in-person and online, through which I worked with a variety of school-age children. I am also working towards a diploma in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers and have completed courses in Arabic grammar, morphology, literature, and rhetoric.

I graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in linguistics (with a focus in English) and a minor in rhetoric from the University of Maryland in College Park. I took courses in syntax, phonology, grammar, semantics, historical linguistics, sociolinguistics, philosophy of language, and discourse analysis.

Fantastic tutor!

Safaa was a kind tutor who listened exactly to what I wanted to learn, and helped me achieve that. She broke down the components of the learning so I could learn in little chunks. I wish I had time to learn Arabic so that I could take more lessons with her; she is so nice and good at tutoring!
