I have a strong academic background in science, mathematics, and premedical studies, but what I enjoy most is helping students make sense of material that initially feels overwhelming. I earned three undergraduate degrees in STEM fields and later completed a graduate degree through Georgetown University’s Special Master’s Program (SMP), a biomedical sciences program centered on advanced premedical and medical coursework. My academic training has included biology, general and organic chemistry, biochemistry, physics, mathematics and statistics, psychology, sociology, English, writing, and critical reading and analysis. I have also completed the MCAT and am familiar with the content, reasoning skills, and test-taking strategies required across all of its sections.
I also have thousands of hours of tutoring and teaching experience. I have formally served as both a teaching assistant and a tutor for high school, undergraduate, and graduate students across the core subjects encountered in the premedical curriculum, as well as MCAT-related material. My experience includes tutoring in the sciences, mathematics, English, reading comprehension, writing, and critical-analysis skills. Working with students across multiple age groups and academic levels has taught me how to adjust the pace, depth, and style of instruction to the individual learner and to explain the same concept in multiple ways when necessary.
My tutoring approach emphasizes genuine understanding rather than short-term memorization. I identify where a student’s reasoning begins to break down, clarify the underlying concept step by step, and then use progressively more challenging problems to build mastery and independence. I also help students develop stronger study habits, organize complex material, improve test-taking strategies, and approach unfamiliar questions systematically. My goal is to provide patient, rigorous, individualized instruction that improves both immediate academic performance and long-term confidence as an independent learner.
