I earned a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering and Design with a concentration in Robotics and Autonomous Systems, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I am also an FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) Certified Mechanical Engineer. Since graduating, I have worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the nuclear power industry, advanced cryogenic and quantum computing hardware space, and currently work on naval systems. My education and professional experience have given me a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, engineering, CAD, and problem-solving, while also teaching me how to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
Throughout high school, college, and my professional career, I have regularly tutored classmates, friends, and coworkers in one-on-one settings. Most of my experience has been with high school and college students, helping them build confidence in subjects such as algebra, calculus, physics, engineering mechanics, and CAD software. Rather than encouraging memorization, I focus on helping students understand the underlying concepts so they can solve new problems independently. I adapt my teaching style to each student's learning preferences, using real-world engineering examples, visual explanations, and guided practice to make difficult topics approachable.
I believe the best tutoring combines patience, encouragement, and structured problem solving. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to develop the confidence and critical thinking skills that will benefit them long after our sessions end.
