Hi, I'm Mahia! I graduated magna cum laude from Rutgers, Camden with a BA in English and following that acquired my MA in English from the same college. I was passionate about my major and as a consequence of that enjoyed my experience at college greatly. I had incredible Professors who ignited my enthusiasm and pushed me to grow and learn more. Not to say the process was easy. I've lots of experience in pulling all-nighters and ruminating deeply to complete my project work. I've mostly used the APA system of citations when conducting research.
Originally I came from a STEM background (concentrating on Maths, Physics, and Chemistry), but I switched to the Humanities when I realized I wasn't playing to my strengths. Before studying at Rutgers I took courses in Cultural Studies and Communication Theory. My road to a degree was long and winding, but ultimately fulfilling at the end.
In the interest of transparency, this is my first job in tutoring. What I can say is that I've a lot of experience in being a student and test-taking. As such I am more than capable of assisting students with project work and test prep. In addition, I continue to read up on my subject for fun. What I'd like to do is help my student accomplish their target goal and give them the tools they need to do well. Hopefully, I'll also pass on an enthusiasm for learning.
