Hello. My name is Jonathan and I am a Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience using and teaching students fundamental computer science and game development concepts using a variety of platforms. Through my experiences teaching students of all ages, I have realized that programming must be made personal. Students need to see how they are learning technology that will allow them to make a tangible impact on their world. They are learning an artform and I am here to help students realize what they can create.

Over the past 4 years I have tutored students from 7 to 22 in general computer science topics and game development/ game design. These students were taking classes such as AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science A. In addition, I have tutored students taking a variety of courses taught in Java and C++ at university. Finally, I have experience teaching game development and design using tools such as Roblox Studio, Scratch, Godot, and Unity. I am also a Roblox Developer that has developed several experiences over the past 4 years and I have helped students release and earn Robux from their own experiences.

The languages I have learned and taught over these years include Java, Lua, C++ and python. I also have a really good understanding of object-oriented programming and design and have lots of experience helping students to design applications and games using object-oriented design principles.

My experiences tutoring in college and for previous companies have allowed me to hone my ability to identify and address areas of misunderstanding in my students. I will never go too fast or too slow. I will make sure that you are placed on a learning path that's right for you.

As a 4th year computer science student I have taken and obtained an A in 2 courses that involved C++, Programming Fundamentals 2 and Data structures and Algorithms. I also prepare for internships using C++ (Leet Code). I believe I am well equipped to help you if you need aid with most college course work involving C++.

I have been developing Roblox games since I began my Computer Science degree at the University of Florida in my spare time. I have also had the opportunity teach kids computer programming using the Roblox Studio platform. I have had to prepare my own curriculum and materials for 1 on 1 sessions and summer camps. I believe I am very equipped to help anyone become the developer of their dreams.

Productive lesson; superb patience!

Jonathan has more then surpassed my expectations as a tutor for my grandson.
