I have been a full-time, career newspaper reporter 40 years. In 1996, I went back to school to get a master's degree in education so I could teach aspiring writers and newspaper interns I always seemed to be training. I have taught journalism, feature writing, short story writing, public speaking, grammar, Edgar Allan Poe's works, flash fiction and related subjects at the college level and at our local community college. I also tutor children and adults, including those who speak English as a second language.
