Hello! My name is Diana, and I am an infectious disease researcher at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
My previous educational background focused on Biological Sciences and Biomedical Anthropology. I was a teaching assistant for 2.5 years, ranging from General Physics 2 to the Pathophysiology of Nutritional Diseases. I instructed weekly discussions regarding material learned earlier in the week and created various forms of interactive review to inspire participation and enthusiasm from the students, and I found it incredibly rewarding to help students understand complex concepts. Through my experiences as a teaching assistant, I have learned that each person has a unique learning style and plan to align tutoring sessions based on prospective students' learning preferences. I am also aware that learning styles may change over time, thus lesson plans will be dynamic such that they can grow alongside the student. I have mainly worked with college students, but have assisted middle school and high school students as well.
I truly believe that you can make studying/ learning new concepts fun, it all depends on the approach! If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out!
