Hi there! I'm Adam, a published journalist and editor with a passion for essay coaching, English, and History.
My love for tutoring stems from my experiences as a student at Johns Hopkins University, where I received a BA in International Studies. While at JHU, was lucky enough to work with an incredible tutor who instilled in me a lasting and deep love for education. I would like nothing more than to pass the favor onward to the next generation of students and give them the same beautifully impactful tutoring experience I had.
As a journalist and editor, I honed the difficult art of writing clear and concise articles with a tight deadline -- that means my pain is your gain! As a private tutor and homeschool teacher, I've applied those tough lessons to college essay coaching and test prep. I'm very proud of my students' success -- some have been accepted into prestigious programs at Princeton, NYU, and Stanford Online High.
A little more about me:
In my five years as a professional tutor and educator, I have worked with students of all ages. I firmly believe in a holistic approach to tutoring, meaning I strive to personalize sessions with the goal of deeply engaging with each student on their level and in their language. In my time as a tutor and mentor, I have found that there is nothing more powerful that a great question, so I encourage my students to think creatively at all times. In my free time, I love to play ultimate frisbee, cook, write creatively, build terrariums, and host bar trivia.
If you're interested, please feel free to reach out to me to schedule a lesson. I look forward to hearing from you!
