Music Conservatory Student Specializing in Brass Instruments

Hello, my name is Jordan! I'm one semester away from finishing my double degree in music education and euphonium performance from the Eastman School of Music. This fall, I'll be completing my student teaching, and upon completion of that I'll be looking to teach band in public schools. At Eastman, I took secondary lessons in trombone, tuba, and french horn. In addition to brass instruments, I'm an avid ocarina player.

So far I've only had private students in trombone, but I'm looking to expand to teaching all brass instruments because in my studies I've learned that the concepts that go into brass playing are very consistent across all instruments. I also have experience teaching group lessons at elementary schools in general music. Lastly, I've been an assistant teacher in music theory at the McDaniel College Summer Music Camp for the past four summers. I'm well-versed in using Finale, and would be happy to offer lessons in arranging music as well.

I'm currently finishing my undergraduate studies at the Eastman School of Music in both music education and euphonium performance. I've received extensive training in playing all brass instruments, and in teaching music to all ages. My school has a very intense music theory and ear training program as well, so I'm well versed in that area.

I would like to benefit my students as much as possible, so I'd love to hear back from both students and parents about any ideas they have. Also, please note that some subjects that I specialize in aren't options here, so if you're interested in having lessons on euphonium, tuba, ocarina, recorder, or something else like music arranging, just shoot me a message and I'll let you know if I'm willing to teach it!
