Hi there! I'm a first-year student at Johns Hopkins University studying Molecular and Cellular Biology. I scored a 1560 on the SAT, including the 99th percentile in both Reading and Writing, and earned 5s on the AP Chemistry, AP Calculus BC, AP Computer Science, and AP Physics C: Mechanics exams. Because this material is recent for me, I know what it takes to master it.

I have 3 years of experience with students from 8th through 12th grade. I have worked one-on-one with about five students, and I have also done peer teaching and worked as a teaching assistant. For example, I tutored an 11th grader in precalculus throughout the school year and helped them raise their grade from a C to an A.

My approach is to find exactly where a student is stuck before showing any answers. If you are working on a differentiation problem, we would first figure out whether the chain rule isn't clicking or you are unsure which rule to use. Then we break the problem into small steps, connect it to concepts you already understand, and practice together until you can solve a similar problem on your own. I stay patient and encouraging, and I focus on understanding rather than memorizing solutions.

I tutor SAT Math, SAT Reading and Writing, chemistry, biology, calculus, physics, Python programming, and flute, including AP-level coursework in these subjects. Every student learns differently, so I adapt my pace and explanations to what works for each person.
