Hi, I’m your go-to math tutor! I help elementary, middle, and high school students stop memorizing steps and start truly understanding mathematics.
With a deep background spanning engineering, international education, and professional mentoring, I don't just teach math—I show students how it connects to the real world. As a practicing Civil Engineer for the Baltimore County Government, I bring math to life by showing students how the concepts they learn in class are used to solve tangible, real-world problems.
Why Choose Me?
Conceptual & Visual Learning: As a former instructor with the Singapore Maths Club, I emphasize how and why math works. I move students away from frustrating rote memorization and toward deep, conceptual understanding.
Highly Adaptable Teaching: My time as a Teacher in the Peace Corps taught me how to reach students of all backgrounds, resource levels, and learning speeds. If one explanation doesn't click, I pivot instantly to another.
K-12 Classroom Experience: With 3 years of substitute teaching across elementary, middle, and high school classrooms, I know the exact curriculums your student is facing and how to keep them engaged.
Academic Excellence: I hold an Associate degree in Mathematics, a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, Mathematics, and Business, and a Master's degree in Engineering Management.
My Tutoring Approach
My approach focuses on:
Pinpointing the Root Cause: I meet students where they are, finding exactly where the confusion starts so we can build a rock-solid foundation.
Customized Visuals & Analogies: I break complex problems into bite-sized steps, using visual tools and familiar connections until the "lightbulb moment" happens.
A Safe Space to Learn: Mistakes are just data! I build a warm, supportive environment where students feel completely comfortable asking questions and rebuilding their academic confidence.

Approved Subjects

Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I have worked with elementary students as a teacher, substitute teacher, mentor, and through individualized academic support. My experience with Singapore Math taught me how important it is for students to understand why something works instead of simply memorizing steps to get the right answer. When a student is struggling with arithmetic, fractions, decimals, or word problems, I like to break things down, try different ways of explaining the concept, and find the approach that makes sense to them. My goal is to help students build a strong foundation in math while becoming more comfortable and confident solving problems on their own.
Geometry

Geometry

I have experience helping students work through geometry both in the classroom and through individualized academic support. I focus on helping students understand how and why concepts like angles, triangles, polygons, area, volume, similarity, and the Pythagorean theorem work instead of just memorizing formulas. When a problem feels complicated, I like to break it into smaller pieces, use diagrams and real-world examples, and work through the reasoning step by step. My goal is for students to become more confident recognizing what a geometry problem is asking and figuring out how to solve it on their own.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

Pre-Algebra is where math starts to look a little different, and I enjoy helping students make that transition without feeling overwhelmed. I help students connect the math they already know to new concepts like variables, equations, ratios, proportions, exponents, and negative numbers. With my background in teaching, mathematics, and engineering, I can show students different ways to approach a problem when the first explanation doesn’t make sense. I want students to come away understanding the concepts well enough that Algebra feels like the next step, not a completely new language.
Precalculus

Precalculus

Precalculus brings together a lot of different math concepts, and sometimes the hardest part is seeing how they all connect. I help students work through functions, trigonometry, equations, graphs, and other precalculus topics while identifying any gaps from algebra or geometry that may be getting in the way. My background in mathematics and engineering helps me connect abstract concepts to practical problem-solving and explain the same idea from different angles when needed. I want students to leave with a stronger understanding of precalculus and the foundation they’ll need to feel prepared when they move into calculus.
