I am an incoming freshman at Washington University in St. Louis with a strong academic background and a passion for helping students achieve their goals. I earned a 1510 SAT score (760 Math and 750 Reading), placing me in the 99th percentile nationally, and I graduated from Gilman School in Baltimore with Cum Laude honors (4.42 weighted GPA). Throughout high school, I challenged myself with advanced coursework including AP Calculus BC (5), AP Chemistry (4) and AP Biology (4). These experiences have helped me develop strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of the concepts tested on standardized exams.
Though I am a new tutor professionally, I have mentored students through my schools' Writing Center for two years, helping underclassmen improve their writing skills and communicate ideas more effectively. My tutoring approach focuses on identifying each student's strengths and weaknesses and explaining concepts in multiple ways. For SAT preparation, I emphasize understanding the reasoning behind questions, recognizing common patterns, improving pacing, and building confidence through targeted practice.
I am looking to primarily work with high school students preparing for the SAT, especially students looking to strengthen their math, reading, and writing skills. I am also open to working with students needing assistance in select AP subjects. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing the skills needed to reach their academic goals.
