I am a certified high school mathematics teacher with 9 years of classroom experience teaching Algebra 1, Honors Algebra 2, and AP Calculus AB. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a minor in Secondary Education from Loyola University Maryland, a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education from Towson University, and a Maryland Advanced Professional Certificate in Secondary Mathematics (7–12). I also completed a Graduate Certificate in Foundations of Special Education, which has strengthened my ability to support diverse learners and tailor instruction to individual student needs.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students at many different ability levels, including students in intervention classes, honors courses, AP classes, and students with IEPs and 504 plans. My experience includes both whole-class instruction and individualized one-on-one support. I focus on building strong foundational understanding while also helping students develop confidence and independence in math. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and highly personalized. I break down difficult concepts into manageable steps, use guided practice and targeted feedback, and adapt my instruction based on how each student learns best.
I have a strong track record of helping students improve academically and gain confidence in mathematics. In AP Calculus AB, I increased exam pass rates from 72% to 94.4% through data-driven instruction, targeted reteaching, and consistent student support. I also regularly help students strengthen study habits, prepare for assessments, and improve problem-solving skills. Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for an upcoming test, or being challenged at a higher level, I strive to create a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and growing as learners.
