My education has required deep mastery of biology, anatomy, physiology, chemistry, neuroscience, reading comprehension, scientific writing, and test-taking under pressure. I have also published extensively in peer-reviewed medical and scientific journals, which has strengthened my ability to explain complex material clearly and help students move from memorization to true understanding.
Teaching has been a major part of my professional life. I have taught surgical skills to residents at Johns Hopkins, led open, laparoscopic, and robotic skills workshops, and mentored Baltimore City high school students through the MERIT Health Leadership Academy as they explored careers in health care. I have also volunteered with children in grades K–12 through St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore, leading hands-on STEM activities for students experiencing homelessness, and worked with young adults through Covenant House. These experiences have taught me how to adapt my teaching style to learners of different ages, backgrounds, confidence levels, and learning needs.
My tutoring approach is patient, structured, and highly individualized. I begin by identifying where a student is getting stuck: whether the issue is content knowledge, reading comprehension, problem-solving strategy, organization, confidence, or test anxiety. From there, I break difficult concepts into smaller, usable pieces and connect them to examples that make the material feel less abstract. I especially enjoy helping students build durable skills: how to reason through a science question, how to approach a difficult passage, how to study efficiently, and how to recover when they feel overwhelmed. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but to help them become calmer, more independent, and more confident learners.
