Hi! My name is Dallas, and I’m a medical student at in the DMV area with a strong passion for teaching, mentorship, and making complex material approachable.
My educational background includes a rigorous pre-medical curriculum and ongoing medical training, equipping me to tutor a wide range of subjects including K–12 math and science, pre-med coursework (biology, chemistry, and physiology), and medical school topics. Through my medical education, I’ve developed effective strategies for breaking down dense material, improving retention, and helping students build confidence in high-pressure academic environments.
I have several years of teaching experience through my work with a city-based tutoring initiative, where I provided one-on-one and small group tutoring to K–12 students across subjects including math, reading, and science. In this role, I worked with students of varying learning styles and academic levels, focusing on individualized teaching approaches, foundational skill-building, and fostering long-term academic confidence.
In addition to academic tutoring, I also have extensive experience as a dance instructor. I trained extensively in ballet, jazz, tap, and modern at a pre-professional level and have taught students ranging from young children to adolescents in both structured class settings and small group environments. My teaching in this space emphasizes discipline, creativity, and adapting instruction to meet each student’s needs- skills that directly translate to my academic tutoring.
My teaching style is student-centered and highly adaptable. I prioritize understanding how each student learns best and tailor sessions accordingly, whether that means practice problems, visual aids, step-by-step walkthroughs, or big-picture conceptual review. I aim to not only help students succeed in the short term, but also build the skills and confidence they need to continue learning independently.
I look forward to working with students of all ages and helping them reach their goals!
