Hi, my name is Arjun! I graduated with highest honors from Johns Hopkins University with a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology, along with Applied Mathematics and Statistics. I am currently a medical student at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

My goal is to help students gain confidence in the material and get ahead while loving the process of learning, and I am willing to go the extra mile to accomplish this. Whether that means teaching the same concept in different ways, building custom study plans to give students direction, or creating original practice problems to help students apply their knowledge, I am happy to do what I can to see my students succeed!

I have over five years of one-on-one virtual tutoring experience in multiple subjects for individuals ranging from elementary school to college:

Math: Pre-algebra, Geometry/Trigonometry, Algebra I/II, Precalculus, AP Calculus AB and BC, College Calculus I-III, AP Statistics

Science: AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics I and C

I am currently a medical student at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. I have participated in and helped others in their senior year of college or gap year to prepare for medical school interviews. This includes working through skeleton answers for common traditional interview questions, helping students gain the intuition necessary for Multiple Mini Interview style situations, and providing advice on making good impressions during group interviews. I also have experience helping students prepare for undergraduate interviews and clinical job interviews for positions such as a clinical research coordinator.

I self-studied for the MCAT and achieved a 520+ score. Since then, I have helped others plan and prepare for the MCAT. I have worked with a few college students to create study plans ranging from 3-6 months of preparation, including review and practice periods. I have also aided in teaching various parts of the MCAT curriculum, from biochemistry to physics, both within and outside the context of the MCAT. As one example, I served as an organic chemistry tutor at my school for a year before becoming the head tutor. As a Cellular and Molecular Biology major, I am also quite strong in the Biology/Biochemistry section of the MCAT.

I have worked with college applicants on their personal statements for over 4 years. This has primarily been with individuals in their junior and senior years of high school. I have been involved in every step of the process from ideation to drafting to reorganization and final edits, so I am well-versed in this process. Having also gone through the medical school application process, I have written and now help individuals write and edit their personal statements. Though I have a bit less experience time-wise, I believe my success in terms of applications, being accepted to big-name institutions like Johns Hopkins, UPenn, and Cornell, speaks to my ability to help others with their personal statements. I believe my experience overall puts me in a unique position to be able to help at multiple levels (undergraduate to graduate) at multiple points (start to finish) in the personal statement writing process.

Excellent tutor; highly recommend

Arjun is an excellent tutor whom I highly recommend. He was kind, respectful, insightful, and articulate. He answered all my questions about the medical school application and interview process clearly, thoughtfully, and patiently. Arjun is a medical student (at Hopkins) who has gone through the application process, so he was able to provide guidance and tips based on his direct experiences. During the mock interview, he adapted to my style and gave me comprehensive feedback—pointing out both what I did well and where I needed to improve with practical suggestions/examples for doing so. After our session, I feel much better prepared to tackle the medical school interview and am confident that the focused feedback and guidance I received from Arjun is helping me do so.
