Hi! My name is Sonny and I'm currently a rising senior at Johns Hopkins University pursuing a Bachelors degree in Neuroscience. Through my coursework and academic experiences, I’ve developed a strong foundation in STEM subjects and a passion for helping others succeed academically.
Over the past several years, I’ve had the opportunity to tutor a wide range of students across different age groups and subjects. At Johns Hopkins, I served as a tutor for the PILOT program, a peer-led academic support group where I led collaborative learning sessions. I specifically tutored Calculus at the college level for two years, helping students understand complex concepts through guided problem solving and active discussion. Working with college students taught me how to adapt to different learning styles and explain challenging material clearly and efficiently.
In addition to my college-level experience, I have been tutoring high school students for about two years in subjects like Algebra, Calculus, Chemistry, as well as SAT and ACT Math and English. I focus on building confidence and critical thinking skills while tailoring my approach to each student’s needs. My background also includes four years of tutoring middle school students in both basic and advanced math, helping them strengthen their skills and prepare for higher-level coursework. Whether working one-on-one or in small group settings, I always aim to create a supportive, engaging environment that empowers students to reach their goals.
