I had the pleasure of learning Spanish with Dani while preparing for the Spanish CLEP exam. She is very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to ensure I was prepared. I've enjoyed three sessions with Daniela. At my level of Spanish, we basically talk on a subject, and I ask for words, or preferred phrases, or other corrections when I need them. This is working well for me. Last session, we reviewed "refranes" to help me understand which a currently in common use versus those that are more archaic.

At the beginning of my Spanish journey, I had a very rudimentary knowledge of the Spanish language. My personal goals were to write, read, and ultimately speak Spanish with fluency; therefore, I found myself searching for a tutor who could support me in my linguistic journey. I have been studying under Profesora Hernandez for a year, and we have moved through myriad topics - from grammatical tenses like present indicative to subjunctive, from cultural topics in Spanish-speaking countries to more worldwide themes such as AI. I have also learned that learning a new language is a process that cannot be rushed. It’s easy to tell Profesora Hernandez is an incredibly knowledgeable and patient instructor, and she creates a learning environment that is encouraging, flexible and not overly critical. I was able to move at a comfortable pace more suited to my learning style and my work schedule, and I was met with supportive and comprehensive lesson plans. Now, I can confidently say that I have moved from an elementary understanding of Spanish to a more multifaceted comprehension of the language and culture. Daniela is an extremely gifted and knowledgeable teacher. I feel very supported during our lessons together. She is kind, efficient, and easy to talk to.
