Hello, I'm Caroline! I'm currently a PhD student in Genetic Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University. My academic background includes a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering and Philosophy and a master's in Biomedical Engineering from Tulane University.
At Johns Hopkins, I've been fortunate to receive the Leon Gordis Teaching Fellowship, which has allowed me to serve as a teaching assistant for over 10 courses in epidemiology and genetics. My coursework has covered biostatistics, epidemiology, genetic epidemiology, and translational epidemiology. I've had the opportunity to teach both undergraduate and graduate students pursuing public health degrees.
My research focuses on complex genetic diseases, with a particular interest in mental health disorders. I'm especially committed to studying these conditions in diverse, underrepresented populations. This work allows me to combine my technical skills with my passion for addressing health disparities.
