Bethany T.

I hold a Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Evergreen State College, where I developed a strong foundation in biological science and tutoring students. My thirst for knowledge and dedication to academic excellence led me to pursue further education, culminating in a Master of Science degree in Cellular and Molecular Medicine from Johns Hopkins. Currently, I am in the final stages of completing my Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cellular and Molecular Medicine at Johns Hopkins, where my research focuses on the role of immune cells in inflammatory skin diseases and in host defense against bacterial pathogens.

I am a passionate teacher who loves helping students achieve and surpass their academic goals through compassionate educating. It is my belief that a teacher's job is to meet students where they are and then help them forge a path to excellence. Throughout my academic journey, I have not only honed my expertise in Cellular and Molecular Medicine but also have cultivated effective communication and teaching skills. I have served as a teaching assistant for undergraduate courses, where I facilitated discussions, provided individualized assistance, and mentored students to help them grasp complex concepts. These experiences have equipped me with the ability to tailor my approach to meet the unique needs and learning styles of each student. In addition, I have also served as a private tutor during my undergraduate students to offer students personalized 1:1 support.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my unwavering commitment to fostering a supportive and encouraging learning environment. I believe in instilling not only subject-specific knowledge but also critical thinking skills and a passion for lifelong learning.
