Dr. Brown has over 26 years of experience in the field of education in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Pennsylvania. Dr. Brown is a published author having contributed to scholarly research focusing upon the impact of teacher-student relationships on students’ abilities to demonstrate self-control within and outside the school setting. Dr. Brown's instructional focus utilizes student's prior knowledge and everyday experiences to make academic subjects relatable to students. He currently sits on the advisory board of the Maryland Out Of School Time Network and serves as the Region 2 Director of the National Alternative Education Association representing Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
