I focus on the importance of patience, enthusiasm, and support, especially in complicated subjects such as biology, biochemistry, and physics. It is through great teachers that I have been able to succeed, and I hope to pass these lessons on to my students. I have been able to apply these lessons to my own teaching experience, having mentored many technicians and graduate students, teaching them new laboratory skills and guiding them through classwork and their qualifying examinations. In addition, I have taught an introductory biology laboratory to students in a pre-healthcare professional program. The enthusiasm of these students, their diligence, and their bright questions showed me how rewarding the teaching experience can be. I often spent hours after their classes talking to them about science and answering questions, and it often reinvigorated my own work.

I am currently a research fellow at Johns Hopkins University. I received my bachelor's degree in Biology from Cornell University where I graduated Cum Laude with a Distinction in Research. As a tutor, mentor, and future professor, I aim to meet students where they are. All students come from different cultural, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds and bring their backgrounds with them when they enter a classroom or tutoring session. Compassion, empathy, support, and patience are the cornerstones of my teaching style as I fully believe that all students can succeed in science if given the correct guidance.
