Hi! My name is Deonte. I graduated with a bachelors degree in elementary education from Morgan State University and currently enrolled in Westerns Governors University M. Ed program for Educational Technology and Instructional Design. I wanted to be an educator since I was in elementary school. I’ve always had a passion for helping kids learn new things and have a better understanding of a topic. I believe education is elevation and you can go further in the world with more you know! I try to make my lesson plans as fun and interactive as possible. Students can be more engaged in the lesson when it is a game or activity that catches their attention. Depending on the students needs and the subject I always encourage students practice the material when the lesson in complete.
I have teaching experience in a 5th grade classroom and 3rd grade classroom. I always stay in touch with parents weekly about how their student in progressing and what work they need to work on. My tutoring experience is in a 9th grade English class. I work with students who need that one on one connection and assistance on their work. I also work with groups that can contain 5-10 students who work better in a smaller setting compared to a class.
