Hi, I'm Ariadni (Ari)! I graduated from Johns Hopkins University in May 2022 with a major in Neuroscience and Minors in Mathematics and Psychology. I am originally from Greece, so I can also teach in Greek if someone has the specific need! During my college years, I was a teaching assistant for multiple courses throughout my years of college (such as a neuroscience course of Brain, Behaviour, and Cognition and algebra courses, such as Calculus III). Starting my sophomore year, I also got a job at Barclay Elementary School in Baltimore, where I was teaching English and Math.
After graduating college, I worked for a year at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine as a research assistant, and then proceeded to obtain my degree Masters of Health Science in Mental Health at the Bloomberg School of Public Health along with a certificate in Health Disparities and Health Inequalities. I am now in the process of applying to medical school, and I am also a teaching assistant at the Johns Hopkins University for a neuroscience and a public health class. I always found that it is extremely important that I had tutors that were closer to my age that could help me understand the subjects from a different point of view. This is why I wanted to give back.
I find it important that a relationship is first built so that the lesson can be effective and the student can trust the tutor. After that, I present the lesson at hand, and gives a good overview of the science and idea behind it. I firmly believe in communication and exchanging of ideas, so I always base my lessons on interaction and conversation.
I can help with elementary and high school algebra, mathematics, trigonometry, psychology, test preparation for college, advice on careers in public health and medical school, ideas on how to go about planning the ACT, SAT, MCAT, and give an insider's perspective on how to get in to the college of your dreams and what steps to follow to be successful.
