Although I have a particular passion for U.S, military history and its relation to the British Enlightenment, I also have a background in philosophy and theology. Other specific emphases include economic history, the history of slavery and its link to the civil rights movement. In contemporary issues I am well versed in the recent conflicts surrounding identity issues in the Muslim world as well as debates centered around counterinsurgency doctrine.
I have intermediate knowledge of anthropology and anthropological studies of the middle east.
I have a deep passion about understanding where we have come from -- we cannot know who we are unless we know where we have been.
