My name is Andrew. I graduated from Williams College with a double major in Chinese and Economics. I spent eight of the last ten years studying and working in Beijing and Hong Kong. Outside of teaching and tutoring, I have five years of experience in Investment Banking and Private Equity Real Estate Investment, which is a fancy way of saying that I have spent thousands of hours within Microsoft Office, and can help you learn pretty much anything you need to know there. I have been a teacher/tutor my entire life. I started babysitting when I was ten, I taught sailing for a total of six years between high school and college, and have helped students can mastery of everything from English grammar, Chinese writing and grammar to financial modeling, excel shortcuts and powerpoint formatting.
My number one goal is to use the skills and experiences that I've spent decades accumulating to my students do better on their test, feel more confident in their work, or simply explore the things that grab their curiosity. I have been lucky enough to have a number of great teachers and tutors throughout my life who made a huge impact on my, and I hope to do the same for my students.
I have spent thousands of hours working in and with Microsoft Excel. I am very comfortable creating large financial models with excel, but I also have a precise appreciation for the strengths and weaknesses of Excel, and how best to approach and solve problems with Excel. Excel's two largest strengths are its ability to play calculator legos while allowing great flexibility in formatting and data sorting. Excel's biggest weakness is that, past a certain point, large calculations and data sets make it hang. I will teach you everything I know about excel, and will do so without making you fall asleep at the keyboard.
I have spent twelve years now learning Chinese. I majored in Chinese at Williams College. Upon graduation I received a Chinese Government Scholarship which allowed me to study all things Chinese Language and Culture
