I have been teaching full web development skills to people of all ages since my senior year in High School. After completing my Computer Science degree at Boston University, I continued my education and received my Masters in IT: concentration in Software Engineering at Harvard University Extension School, while working full-time as a Full-Stack Web Applications Developer in the healthcare industry.

I have worked on multiple projects in high-profile websites for the past 15 years as well as publishing two journals along the way. Recently, I have dabbled in the Android ecosystem, having published Android applications to Google's Play Store in which my most recent apps hit 65,000+ downloads. My expertise involves Full-Stack web development, including C#, .NET, HTML, CSS, jQuery, and SQL.

During my off-time, I like to volunteer in teaching computer basics to elderly/non-English speaking people in the local library. I have also started to contribute to open source projects in the healthcare industry.

I have been creating web applications in C# for the past 6 years within the .NET framework. These projects are currently being used in on-site healthcare settings on a daily basis. The web applications also uses Angular, jQuery, HTML5, as well as connecting to the backend webservices to access a database via MSSQL. In my C# tutorials, I will explain the full 3-tier system, show diagrams, and explain custom code in how to get a web application running, with C# of course being the main programming language.

I started taking computer programming classes since High School. Fast forward 20 years, I have received a degree in Computer Science at Boston University as well as a Masters Degree in IT (concentration in Software Engineering) at Harvard University Extension Studies. Along the way, I have worked 10 years in the professional world where web applications development is my job experience. A couple of languages I am most proficient in is Java, C#, and JavaScript. Every day I am constantly programming and reviewing code to be shipped out in a timely manner, so detail is very crucial to me. In my lessons, I usually teach students the structure of good programming and the ease of picking up different languages. It is quite hard at times to pick these things up, so I usually provide diagrams and workflows of how programming works. Obviously, computer programming is a broad and vast topic, but I believe that with my diverse educational and work background, I will be able to cover the topics asked by my potential students.

All the websites that I have created professionally have dealt with CSS or another. Having a great aesthetic looking website makes or breaks a user experience, so I have worked many years in using CSS to make websites look elegant and beautiful. I have also taught CSS many times to my students as well.

HTML

HTML is the basic backbone of all Web Development jobs, so it is imperative that developers are proficient in this section. There are plenty of plans I have used and have drawn up in the past that makes teaching it a snap. I have gained the proper qualifications to teach HTML.
JavaScript

JavaScript

I have worked close to 10 years in professional web development experience, and the one language that I have constantly used is JavaScript for my front-end development. Whether it be for a simple redirect a user to a separate page, to more complicated AJAX calls to webservices in the back-end, JavaScript has always been one of the tools I use in my job. Most recently, I have picked up AngularJS and Node.js to create some of my web applications. jQuery and jQueryUI are my go-to libraries when teaching since they are simple and clean. I would often create simple webpages and then slowly introduce my students to the benefits of JavaScript through examples in those webpages (ex. alerts, loops, POST/GET calls, etc.)
SQL

SQL

Learning SQL is a vital part in understanding how data can be fetched efficiently from the database and placed onto the browser. I show the many different technologies in creating database (MSSQL, MySQL, SQLite), how to store data, and how to retrieve it via SQL. I also have taken graduate classes in Developing Web-Based Database Applications and passed the qualifications for teaching SQL.
