I am a passionate educator with 13 years of classroom teaching experience and a Master’s degree in Education. I currently teach sixth grade and have extensive experience working with elementary and middle school students in reading, writing, English Language Arts, grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. I have worked with students across a wide range of academic abilities, including students with IEPs and 504 plans, ADHD, dyslexia, learning disabilities, and students performing significantly below grade level. My experience has taught me that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to learning, and I believe students make the greatest progress when instruction is individualized to their strengths, needs, and learning style.
My tutoring approach is patient, encouraging, and personalized. I take the time to understand where a student is academically, identify the skills that are creating frustration, and develop instruction that meets them where they are while helping them move toward their goals. Whether a student needs support with reading comprehension, writing, essay organization, grammar, homework, study skills, or building confidence as a learner, I strive to make tutoring a positive and supportive experience. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them develop the confidence and skills to become more independent learners.
