A Good Mandarin Chinese Teacher

I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker and currently an MBA student at Clark University. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Quanzhou Normal University in China, where I received multiple academic excellence awards. I also hold a Mandarin Proficiency Certificate (Grade II-A), which reflects my strong foundation in standard Mandarin pronunciation and usage.

I have experience supporting students in language learning through one-on-one tutoring, peer mentoring, and small-group guidance. During my undergraduate studies, I served as a Freshman Advisor (Class Mentor) and worked closely with first-year college students, explaining policies, answering questions, and helping them communicate more clearly and confidently. This experience strengthened my ability to teach patiently and adjust explanations based on each student’s level.

As a Mandarin tutor, I focus on building practical and confident language use. My teaching approach is structured, clear, and student-centered. For beginners, I emphasize Pinyin, tones, basic sentence structures, and daily conversation. For intermediate learners, I focus on expanding vocabulary, improving grammar accuracy, and developing real-life speaking and listening skills. I can also support HSK preparation and conversational Chinese based on students’ goals.

I primarily work with middle school, high school, college students, and adult learners. My teaching experience includes one-on-one tutoring and small-group instruction in both academic and informal learning settings. As a bilingual Mandarin–English speaker, I am able to explain difficult concepts clearly in English, which helps students feel comfortable and confident.

I genuinely enjoy teaching Chinese and helping students make steady progress. My goal is to help learners not only understand Mandarin, but also feel confident using it in real-life situations.
