My academic credentials, in chronological order:
☐ Earned a 5 on the AP Biology / AP Chemistry / AP Physics 1/2 exam.
☐ Graduated from UC Santa Cruz: 3.97 GPA (top 0.5% of my class) across all core pre-med sciences.
☐ Professional Teaching Assistant (TA) for undergraduate chemistry and biology 2+ years
☐ 522 on the MCAT (130/130/131/131)
☐ Scored top quartile on Step 2 CK (262)
☐ Worked at MedSchoolInsiders for 2+ years, tutoring students on MCAT, USMLE, and core pre-med sciences.
☐ Published 30 peer-reviewed science articles, with over 60 research items on my ERAS application.

Students that I have mentored over the years have landed medical school acceptances at Ivy leagues and top medical schools, including UCSF/UPenn/UCLA/BU/Tufts. I work closely with my students to make sure their stories are heard and voiced clearly for the admission committee members. My style of teaching has helped students go from 500-505 to 515+, from the struggling medical student to scoring high marks on shelfs/step, thanks to a combination of a strict calendar, strong study/test-taking strategies that I discuss, and resources that are geared towards the student's study style.

Services I Offer:
☐ AMCAS/AACOMAS activity descriptions
☐ Mock interviews (MMI & traditional)
☐ Core pre-med and high school science tutoring (Gen Chem, O Chem, Physics, Biology, Biochem)
☐ MCAT/Step 1/Step 2 Tutoring
☐ Research publication/writing/statistical analysis (full walkthrough).

College Counseling

I have served on the Admissions Committee for both UC Santa Cruz and UMass Chan Medical School, giving me firsthand insight into how competitive applications are evaluated at both the undergraduate and medical school levels. I have mentored dozens of students through the entire admissions process: from crafting strong personal statements to preparing for interviews. My experience allows me to guide students strategically, focusing on what committees truly look for in successful applicants. I specialize in helping applicants present compelling, authentic narratives that stand out in a highly selective process..
Interview Prep

Interview Prep

I serve on the UMass Chan Medical School Admissions Committee, where I have reviewed applications and interviewed candidates in both MMI and traditional interview formats. This gives me direct insight into how interviewers evaluate communication, judgment, and fit. I also worked as an interview tutor for MedSchoolInsiders, coaching premeds to excel in high-stakes medical school interviews. With this combined experience, I help students develop polished, confident, and authentic responses that stand out to admissions committees.
MCAT

MCAT

I’m a fourth-year medical student at UMass Chan Medical School applying into radiology, with years of experience mentoring both pre-medical and medical students. I scored in the top 10%ile of MCAT scores, and performed above the 90th percentile across the hard science sections. My academic background includes strong foundations in chemistry, physics, CARS, psychology, and sociology, allowing me to break down difficult concepts clearly and teach strategies that actually work. I’m very familiar with the MCAT as a key part of the admissions process and have helped many students approach it with confidence and structure.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

On the admissions committee at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, where I have evaluated hundreds of applications and gained a deep understanding of how truly compelling personal statements are crafted. In addition, I have spent more than three years advising students through an educational YouTube channel with over one million subscribers. During this time, I have worked one-on-one with dozens of students to develop and refine their narratives, many of whom went on to gain acceptance into top-20 medical schools and universities. This experience has given me a strong track record in helping applicants articulate their story with clarity, authenticity, and resonance.
USMLE

USMLE

I’m a fourth-year medical student at UMass Chan applying into radiology, with a strong background in teaching and mentorship. I’ve served as a TA for undergraduate science courses and have continued teaching MS1s and MS2s throughout medical school. With a Step 2 CK score of 262 and top performance on Step 1, I focus on helping students study efficiently, master difficult concepts, and build the confidence needed for high-stakes exams. I also mentor pre-meds through every stage of the medical school application process, from essays to interviews. My teaching style is clear, structured, and tailored to each student’s individual goals.

Optimistic and knowledgeable tutor

Huy has already made a strong impression in just the few sessions I’ve had with him. He came in with a clear, well-structured study plan that balances content review, practice questions, and full-length exams, which has been really helpful given that I am also working full-time. He’s also very approachable and easy to work with. Whenever I don’t understand something, he takes the time to explain it in a simple and effective way, making sure I actually grasp the concept rather than just memorizing it. I’ve especially appreciated his reviewing approach to CARS, which has already helped me think through passages more strategically. Even with only a few sessions so far, I can tell he’s genuinely invested in helping his students succeed. I’m looking forward to continuing to work with him and improving my MCAT score. I would highly recommend him!

Knowledgable on the medical school application process

In our introductory meeting, Daniel showed that he was knowledgeable on the many requirements for medical school applications, and even made the effort to go beyond the time limit of the session to help me brainstorm another idea for my activity statements. I would definitely recommend him for guidance on medical school applications.
