I am an accomplished scholar in civil and environmental engineering, but it wasn't always this way. Throughout my academic career, I have perfected the path toward retaining long-term information and transferring these skills to practical use. In college, the most frustrating thing to me was studying a subject so thoroughly and still not understanding it beyond the exam. What helped was the long-term study methods that finally allowed me to understand. I use this method with all my students, teaching not just for a test, but so that they could see success during the rest of their academic careers. Going from being a B student to receiving a 4.0 and acceptance to prestigious graduate programs has changed my outlook on traditional studying and memorization.
Over the past decade, I have taught hundreds of students to transform their mindsets and fall in love with the details and complexities of STEM. Since 2019, I have been teaching classes as a Professor at UMass while also serving the Massachusetts community with individualized STEM tutoring. During our intro session, I develop a comprehensive plan for each student that integrates their unique learning style along with their passions, strengths, and interests. Each session is structured so that by the end, a student has a deeper foundational knowledge that they can utilize for years to come. I have taught students all over the United States, from San Diego to Atlanta Georgia, and locally in Amherst, Northampton, Worcester, and Natick. I have advanced experience with assisting students with IEPs, special accommodations, and disabilities. I am also trained in mental health, test anxiety, and college transfers.
