Hi! I'm a Registered Nurse with 10 years of experience and a BSN from the University of Central Oklahoma. I currently work in an outpatient college-health setting in the Boston area. Before that, I spent several years in critical care as both a staff ICU nurse and an ICU travel nurse.
Teaching has always been one of my favorite parts of nursing. During my years in the ICU, I precepted many new nurses and loved helping them build their knowledge, confidence, and clinical judgment. I also had the opportunity to work with nursing students who shadowed me. I genuinely enjoy helping people learn and grow.
I tutor nursing students and NCLEX-RN students in areas including critical care, medical-surgical nursing, fundamentals, dosage calculations, clinical judgment, prioritization, and test-taking strategies.
My teaching style is patient, supportive, and individualized. I don't want to simply give you the answer. I want to understand how you're approaching the problem, identify where you're getting stuck, and help you develop a way of thinking that you can use on future questions. For NCLEX preparation, we'll work on both content knowledge and the critical-thinking skills needed to understand what a question is really asking.
I also understand how stressful nursing school and the NCLEX can be. I want my students to feel comfortable saying, "I don't understand this." Those are often the moments when the most learning happens.
When I took the NCLEX in 2016, I passed on my first attempt with the minimum number of questions. I prepared through an NCLEX prep course, independent study, and extensive practice questions, using those questions to identify and focus on my weaker areas.
My goal is to help you become more confident, think more critically, and develop skills that will help you not only on your next exam, but throughout your nursing career.
I offer online tutoring and in-person sessions in public locations within approximately 30 miles of Wilmington, MA.
