I am fluent in Mandarin, was awarded the Seal of Biliteracy with Distinction, and scored a 5 on the AP Chinese Exam. I have also scored 5s in AP Physics 1, AP Calculus BC, and AP US History, and can help students with both material and test taking skills. I have taught students in one on one, semi-private, and group lesson formats in math, elementary science, English, SAT, and Chinese classes. I am currently available for any of these subjects in private or semi-private class formats.
In middle school, I discovered that learning in a traditional classroom was not the most efficient for me. Instead, I found success in self-lead exploration and the investigation of how and why something works. As a student tutor, I am able to approach each subject with the experience of someone who was in the same course only a few years earlier. With a student's perspective of test formatting, common misunderstandings, and useful strategies, I have helped students improve their academic experiences in their classes and their grasp of test taking skills.
