I have considerable experience tutoring and coaching students of all ages in writing, languages, English, grammar, and pretty much everything related to words, language, and grammar. The languages I have taught include Russian, Latin, Hebrew, and French, as well as English. I have taught creative writing, fiction, and poetry, and I have coached people writing their doctoral dissertations. I'm also a professional lexicographer and linguist, as well as a professional writer, editor, and translator. In addition, I'm a homeschooling mom, and as such, I teach homeschooling classes routinely, and these tend to include a wide range of ages.
I have taught in university settings, homeschool cooperatives, private living rooms, and one-on-one settings. Whatever the setting, I start by getting to know my students, their interests and needs, and their learning styles. Then, I base my teaching plans and curriculum on the individual students. I bring a lot of enthusiasm to whatever I teach.
I have an MA in Russian language and literature from Bryn Mawr College, where I also did my undergraduate degree in Russian. I was a Fulbright Scholar, and also did some graduate work in Linguistics at Cornell.
