Hi! I’m Nithya. I graduated from Northeastern University with a strong academic foundation in Biology, Chemistry, Genetics, and Biostatistics. Throughout my time in college and in various research labs, I discovered that what fulfilled me the most wasn’t just mastering the material, but rather the process of breaking down complex ideas to help make them click for others. I love seeing a student’s confidence grow when something that once felt intimidating suddenly becomes intuitive and manageable.

My tutoring approach blends clarity, patience, and encouragement. I aim to create a learning space where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring new ways of thinking, and building strong conceptual understanding. I often start by identifying each student’s unique learning style, then introduce the topic in a structured, approachable way before guiding them through practice problems and applications. My goal is always to help students feel empowered regardless of if they’re catching up, keeping up, or aiming to get ahead.

I’ve gained hands-on experience in both scientific coursework and real laboratory environments, including research on bacterial genetics, PCR workflows, and internal-state modeling through AI systems. These experiences allow me to connect textbook concepts to real-world science, which many students find motivating and clarifying. I take pride in making even the most challenging topics understandable and easy to digest.

Above all, I want my students to feel supported and confident in their academic journey. I’m responsive, adaptable, and committed to helping each student succeed in a way that feels sustainable and stress-free. Please feel free to reach out with questions or to schedule a lesson. I’m always happy to help!

Biology

Biology

I have a strong foundation in biology built through AP Biology in high school and further coursework in college, including Inquiries into Biological Sciences. These classes strengthened my understanding of core concepts such as cell biology, genetics, evolution, physiology, and ecology. I’m confident in breaking down complex biological ideas into clear, approachable explanations and helping students build both conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. I aim to support students in mastering the material and feeling prepared for exams, homework, and long-term success in science.
Biostatistics

Biostatistics

I completed biostatistics coursework as part of my Cell and Molecular Biology degree at Northeastern University, where I gained a strong foundation in probability, hypothesis testing, regression, and statistical analysis used in the life sciences. My training included designing experiments, interpreting data, and applying statistical methods to biological questions. I explain concepts step-by-step and help students build confidence in understanding statistical reasoning. I support students in applying biostatistics skills to coursework, problem sets, and scientific interpretation.
Genetics

Genetics

I hold a BS in Cell and Molecular Biology from Northeastern University, where I completed advanced coursework in genetics/advanced genomics. My research roles at BIDMC and Boston Children’s Hospital directly involved genetic analysis, including PCR, primer design, bacterial mutagenesis, molecular cloning, and studying genetic mechanisms underlying antimicrobial resistance and neurodevelopmental disorders. Through this work, I developed a deep understanding of gene expression, mutation, inheritance patterns, and molecular regulation. I help students grasp core principles of genetics by breaking down complex mechanisms into clear, intuitive explanations connected to real-world biological systems.
