My name is Ryan, and I'm a fourth-year medical student at UMass Chan Medical School. I majored in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at BU. Over the past several years, I’ve mentored dozens of students through the medical school application process, from MCAT prep and personal statements to interview coaching and school selection. I scored a 522 on the MCAT and a 268 on the USMLE Step 2 CK, and I use these experiences to help students develop high-yield, personalized study strategies that emphasize active recall, spaced repetition, and diagnostic reasoning over rote memorization.

Beyond tutoring, I’ve worked in medical education research and published over 30 peer-reviewed papers. I’ve created study materials for YouTube and other platforms, and many of the students I’ve helped have gone on to top medical schools and residencies. My tutoring style is supportive, efficient, and tailored to each student’s goals, whether they’re navigating a tough exam or crafting a standout AMCAS application.

I also offer detailed personal statement review and editing for both pre-med and medical students. My approach focuses on crafting compelling, authentic narratives that reflect your motivations, resilience, and growth. I help refine structure, elevate storytelling, and ensure alignment with your overall application, so your statement stands out to admissions committees.

Whether you're preparing for the USMLE, working on your med school apps, or figuring out where to begin, I’m here to help.

I have written many personal statements for medical school and residency applications, and I have had success thus far. Additionally, I am a co-author of the famous resource "Guide to the medical school application and beyond", which is the most highly utilized public resource for premeds on medical school applications. It includes a section of good and bad examples of personal statements from prior students. I also worked as an admissions committee medical student in my first year of school.

Physics- Newtonian Law

Ryan did an unbelievable job going over some practice questions from my chapter 4 textbook and helped me understand how to break down formulas while problem solving. He was very patient and allowed me to ask any questions, while also giving me a detailed explanation and presentation on how to get it done.
