I have been tutoring math for over 15 years with students as young as 4 and as old as 50. My general approach includes the following:
(1) listen to student's concerns and their interests (this will help me draw powerful content connections during lessons and improve knowledge retention) ;
(2) leverage my expertise in teaching in learning to scaffold student learning; and
(3) help students develop skills so they can be masters of their own learning.

Ms. Liz has helped my 6 year old son with his reading, vocabulary, and comprehension so much, it is just amazing. He loves his time with her, and looks forward to his reading lessons with Ms. Liz each week. Ms. Liz keeps him engaged, interested and focused during the lesson, and has ways of making even the most tedious of tasks such as vocabulary and grammar interesting. Ms. Liz also does a very good job of integrating the parent's goals of tutoring and the school's curriculum with my son's learning style.

Engaging and very positive
Elizabeth has turned out to be just what my daughter needed. My 15 year old 10th grader quite suddenly began failing Algebra 2, dropping from B to a D. She has always been a good student so this was very frustrating for her. After struggling through a painful marking period, trying to get help from the teacher, doing extra work and getting nowhere, we decided to find a tutor before she got too far behind. At the very first lesson I knew this would be a good fit. Liz came ready to ask questions, really listen to my daughter, and create a plan that would work for her. My daughter came out smiling! When we left Liz was on her way to research some books for another student.(We meet a the library) She really cares about her students and is giving my daughter back her self-confidence.
