Excellent Teacher Not just a Tutor.
Eileen, 34 lessons with LauraMy dyslexic daughter always excelled in science, but her 9th grade biology class focuses on reading the chapter in class which she finds difficult. I found Laura around last December after my daughter's interim report showed a 'D' in biology. Always prepared for the lesson, Laura came weekly to teach the chapter to my daughter. Instead of just helping my daughter memorize facts, she helped her understand the concepts. One time, Laura showed up with a little model to teach the skeletal...

Knowledgeable and Creative Tutor
We have been working with Laura to assist our daughter with learning challenges in reading and writing. Laura was very knowledgeable and creative with different methods and mediums to teach our daughter and assist her in overcoming her challenges. She met with our daughter twice a week over the summer and really helped her to prevent a slide and to be prepared for 3rd grade. Highly reccomend.

Laura was great
My son, who is applying for college, needed an independent reviewer with experience with college essays to review his essay. Laura's review was excellent and our essay is now completed! I highly recommend her and will be calling her again when it is time for my next son to apply to college.

Very helpful and informative
She is an expert on becoming an expert. I have nothing negative to say about Laura. Her knowledge on plants and viruses surpass expectations. I would use her again in a heartbeat.

So thankful
Laura has been the perfect tutor for my son. He needed to prepare for his SAT's but was not the best at taking the time to do so on his own. Having Laura come once a week to help him prepare made all the difference. While my son was grateful for the time and help he did not appreciate the degree to which Laura had helped him prepare until the day of the exam. He came home from the SAT's so happy...everything on the exam was exactly what they had gone over. He left confident that he had done well. Thank you Laura!

A disappointing experience
Laura worked with our son for 9 months, beginning the week he took his PSAT. Despite meeting for one hour or more each week, my son's score went DOWN on the SAT. Further, we asked her to provide specific tasks and assignments between sessions but this did not happen consistently and it did not appear that she followed up. The test results alone speak volumes. I would not recommend her.
Chris, 44 lessons with LauraTutor responded:Every week the student and I decided on the topics the student should work on during the week,I prepared forty (40) lessons to review the topics and I gave him a quiz each week on said material. We used a white board to review problems every lesson. CHRIS rated me a "5" every single lesson I did for 9 months. We started with the PSAT, SAT,then we did the SAT subject Level Math 1 and most recently I tutored SAT Chemistry. I set aside time every weekend at the students convenience to to give him a customized lesson. The students SAT scores were higher than his PSAT scores. No one can guarantee how a student will score on a given day. I received forty "40" 5-ratings (excellent ) from Chris which speaks volumes about the nature of this review.
Very patient tutor!
Reading, writing strategies. Laura is very patient with my son and finds a way to get him engaged. He seems to be off to a good start with Laura's help.
