I am Dmitry, a former academic researcher, quantitative financial analyst, and computer scientist, with 20 years of teaching experience. I am Dmitry, a former academic researcher, quantitative financial analyst, and computer scientist, with 20 years of teaching experience. I hold a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, as well as a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the Moscow Academy of Oil and Gas (Russia) and a Master’s degree in Finance from Boston College. I have published two books and nine technical papers. I also received multiple awards in mathematics competitions during high school and college and scored in the 97th percentile on the GMAT quantitative section.
I have taught AP and college-level Calculus, as well as high school Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and Trigonometry. I served as a Teaching Assistant at the Technion and have worked as a teacher and private tutor since 2010, gaining extensive experience teaching mathematics at all levels across a wide range of subjects. I have developed structured plans to guide students through SAT preparation, both in person and online. I have led 10 SAT workshops (30 hours each) for groups of 5–15 students and have also worked with students individually. Many of my students have achieved scores of 780 or higher on the SAT Math section. I also provide test preparation for the GMAT and GRE for graduate school candidates.
Thanks to my background and experience, I excel at breaking down complex mathematical concepts, explaining and illustrating them clearly, and selecting appropriate examples based on each student’s mindset and level. I strive to ensure that key ideas are crystal clear, no questions remain unanswered, and that students develop both confidence and an appreciation for mathematics. I use carefully selected problem sets in each course to help students build the skills needed to succeed on upcoming tests.
