Hello! I am a teacher with more than thirty years of classroom experience in the field of English. Over the decades, I have taught literature, poetry, writing of all sorts and helped students develop their voices in the classroom and in their writing. As an Advanced Placement teacher for the last 25 years, my students performed consistently above the state and national averages in AP Language and Composition. As a teacher of Juniors, I have also taught and coached students through all aspects of the college essay, helping them understand the formula while nurturing their unique perspective.
I have an undergraduate degree from Williams in English and I spent a year at University College, London in the Art History program. I have a Masters Degree in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Perhaps my greatest education had been in the classroom, where I have taught for over 30 years, from AP Students to disengaged learners.
