I work with motivated students who are aiming to significantly improve their test scores and strengthen their applications to competitive schools and programs. With over 20 years of experience, I’ve helped hundreds of students achieve meaningful score gains—including 300+ point increases on the SAT, 5+ point increases on the ACT, and substantial improvements on the SSAT and ISEE.

I typically work with students who are already performing well but need to reach the next level. My approach is highly targeted and results-driven. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all method, I focus on identifying exactly where each student is losing points and how to address those gaps efficiently. Many students come to me after feeling stuck with prep books, classes, or other tutors—I help them break through that plateau with strategies tailored to both the student and the test.

I am a graduate of Dartmouth College with an MBA from Boston University. I take on a limited number of students to ensure focused attention and consistent results. If you’re looking for a structured, effective approach to achieving your student’s goals, I’m happy to discuss how we can work together.

**Students I’ve worked with have gone on to attend schools including Harvard, Dartmouth, Cornell, Rice, Notre Dame, Northeastern, Emory, Boston College, Babson, and others.

**Private school placements include Phillips Exeter, Winsor, Thayer Academy, Concord Academy, and more.

ACT English

If your student is already scoring in the mid-to-high 20s but struggling to break into the 32–34+ range, that’s exactly where I focus. I work with high-achieving students who don’t need basic tutoring—they need help identifying where they’re losing points and how to consistently perform at a higher level on the ACT. I specialize in the ACT and how it differs from other standardized tests, particularly in its pacing, question patterns, and section-specific strategies. Many students come to me after using prep books or classes and feeling stuck. My approach is highly targeted: pinpointing where points are being lost, teaching efficient strategies for the most time-pressured sections, and reinforcing only the concepts that actually appear on the test. With over 25 years of experience and hundreds of students, I have a track record of helping students achieve meaningful score gains. I take on a limited number of students to ensure focused attention and consistent results. If this sounds like a fit, I’m happy to discuss your student’s current score and goals.

I work with high-achieving students and professionals who don’t need basic instruction—they need a targeted approach to improve performance and reach their goal score. My approach is highly targeted to the PSAT and how it aligns with the Digital SAT. We focus on where points are being lost, how to maximize performance on each section, and the strategies that consistently move students into top percentile ranges. This is not general test prep—it’s focused work designed to help students reach scholarship-level scores. Fantastic, calm, all business tutor

Kathy has worked with our son for about 6 months prepping for the ACT. She has been fantastic in helping him work on specific areas and to improve across the board. Her calm all-business approach matched very well with our son and his goals. He just found out that he got a perfect score on the ACT which was the result of hard work and a focused game plan. We highly recommend Kathy.

Outstanding Tutor

Kathy is the perfect combination of teacher and coach, which makes her an excellent tutor for standardized exams. She worked with my son on ACT prep, and I am quite sure that his scores reflect her help. Kathy really looked at my son and was able to zero in on what he knew, what he didn’t, why he made mistakes and how to avoid them. She knows the test inside and out and also gave my son strategies for test day. On top of it, she is patient, friendly, flexible and really lovely to interact with. If there’s a better tutor out there, I’d be surprised.
