Are you struggling in school, due to learning disabilities or other challenges? I get it. It took me seven years – and five colleges – to finally earn my BA cum laude from in 2006, with a major in Psychology, and then a Masters of Arts in Jewish Studies in 2009 from Hebrew College, with a concentration in the Bible.
Starting in 2008, I have led a weekly adult Torah study group at my synagogue, now called “Historical Judaism,” as we study post-biblical Jewish writings and writers....

Starting in 2008, I have led a weekly adult Torah study group at my synagogue, now called “Historical Judaism,” as we study post-biblical Jewish writings and writers.
Throughout this time of leading a small group, I have led two adult ed classes on the history and development of the Bible in which I developed the syllabus and overall course structure, one in 2008 entitled “What Israelites Knew That Jews May Not,” a single two-hour-long course, and one in 2014 entitled “Canon Fodder: The 2500-Year Development of the Jewish Canon,” a 3-part course.
In addition, I’ve tutored students in algebra and this past May, I tutored a student for the 10th Grade MCAS Math section.
An experienced tutor and teacher of high schoolers and adults, I can help provide the tools you need to do your best. Math, psychology, SAT prep, and Bible studies are my specialties, and I am also very into solving and constructing puzzles, and am rather knowledgeable about popular music from the last 100 years. I work patiently with students of all ages, either in small groups or one-on-one. I am also the author of two books, NLD From the Inside Out and King Kong Sudoku. Remote only; telephone or Zoom, flexible schedule, references upon request.

ADHD

ADHD

I grew up having Nonverbal Learning Disability, which is very closely related to ADD (nonhyperactive type). I went through the entire special ed system through college "resource rooms". As a result of getting my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Clark in 2006, I wrote the first edition of my book, NLD From The Inside Out. I fully understand the needs of students who need to work on their executive functioning skills and need to know (and have their parents know) that ADHD is not a bad thing. I continue to be an active disability rights advocate to this day, and would like to continue to work with students with disabilities from someone who actually gets it.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I grew up having Nonverbal Learning Disability, which is very closely related to Asperger's Sydrome (now part of ASD). I went through the entire special ed system through college "resource rooms". As a result of getting my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Clark in 2006, I wrote the first edition of my book, NLD From The Inside Out. I fully understand the needs of students who need to work on their social skills and/or who have sensory sensitivity issues (I, myself, grew up with photosensitive epilepsy.) I continue to be an active disability rights advocate to this day, and would like to continue to work with students with disabilities from someone who actually gets it.
Bible Studies

Bible Studies

I have a Masters of Arts in Jewish Studies from Hebrew College in 2009. I led a study group for 15+ years covering a wide range of topics including: the entire Jewish Bible, the Apocrypha, Pseudepigrapha, the Dead Sea Scrolls, the New Testament, an overview of the Talmud, the Quran, and several Jewish Commentators throughout the Middle Ages.
Music History

Music History

Even from a very early age, I have been fascinated with music. Growing up listening to everything from classical music to classic rock to soft rock to whatever was playing on MTV, VH1, or the radio, I wanted to consume just about anything and everything I could, audibly. I was formally trained in Music History in Clark University in 2005. I get very excited anytime someone asks me to make them a playlist, or to do some kind of ranking of albums, artists, or songs, based on a specific set of criteria. I currently listen to several music-themed podcasts, and I hope to make students love thinking and learning about music as much as I do.
Religion

Religion

I have a Masters of Arts in Jewish Studies from Hebrew College in 2009. I have studied: the Jewish Bible, the Apocrypha, Pseudepigrapha, the Dead Sea Scrolls, the New Testament, the Talmud, and the Quran.

Writing

I am the published author of two books: NLD from the Inside Out: Talking to Parents, Teachers, and Teens about Growing Up with Nonverbal Learning Disabilities - Third Edition; and King Kong Sudoku: A True Beast of a Puzzle, in Living Color! In addition to these, I had served as the Assistant Editor to Business Aviation Advisor Magazine for 9 years.
