Maryane and I went through many problems, working on them together and apart. She was easy to talk to as we also figured out problems together, discussing our views instead of her doing all the talking. Very interactive, no being talked at. I called for her last minute and she was able to meet with me. She was very nice and enthusiastic and accommodating.
My daughter was struggling in pre-calculus and we thought we found a good tutor in Maryane. Initially, everything was working out great; however, things changed along the way. Maryane turned out to be an unreliable tutor for my daughter. There were a couple of incidents in which we had scheduled appointments and Maryane either contacted us late or didn't show up or contact us. I would not recommend Maryane as a tutor.
Maryane is tutoring my 16 year old son in Chemistry and Algebra 2. She's knowledgeable, patient and reliable. I would highly recommend Maryane for tutoring.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
