Hello! My name is Hana, and I am a graduate of Williams College and a current master's student at the University of Pennsylvania. My academic background is rooted in STEM, and I have always enjoyed helping students build confidence in mathematics, science, and test preparation. I am particularly comfortable tutoring SAT/ACT Math, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Precalculus, SAT/ACT Writing, and general study skills.
Education has been important to me throughout my life. In high school, I graduated as Salutatorian, served as Math Club Chair, and received the English Award, which was presented to the top English student in my graduating class. These experiences helped me develop strong study skills that I now enjoy sharing with students.
As a 5X international/national winner flutist, my teaching experience includes working with elementary, middle, and high schoolers, as well as coaching students for All-County, All-District, and All-State auditions. I have also helped students navigate the college admissions process, including students who were accepted to highly selective liberal arts and national universities. Through these experiences, I adapted my teaching style to each student's learning needs, break complex concepts into manageable steps, and create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
My tutoring philosophy is centered on understanding rather than only memorization. I am patient, encouraging, and organized, and I enjoy celebrating students' progress as they achieve their academic goals.
In addition to academic tutoring, I am happy to provide guidance on study habits, academic planning, extracurricular involvement, and the college admissions process. Having successfully navigated the admissions process myself, I enjoy helping students identify their strengths, set goals, and present themselves effectively to colleges and universities.
