I’m an undergraduate at Boston College studying computer science, and I also have a strong academic foundation in quantitative subjects and economics through college coursework. In high school, I achieved a 1560 on my SAT and 5s in both AP Economics courses. I am a clear communicator who focuses on building crystallized intelligence through mental cues and intuitive understanding.
While I’m new to Wyzant, I’ve spent significant time teaching in a one-on-one setting by helping peers and students in my network prepare for exams and improve performance on homework and quizzes. I’ve worked primarily with high school and college-level students, and I’m comfortable adapting sessions to the student’s level, whether they need to build fundamentals, catch up in a class, or aim for a higher standardized-test score. My sessions are structured, patient, and focused on building confidence through clear explanations and repeated practice.
My approach is to diagnose exactly what’s causing mistakes, then teach a repeatable method the student can use independently. For SAT prep, I combine concept review with targeted drills, timed practice, and an error log so students stop repeating the same mistakes and get faster under time pressure. For economics, I focus on intuition first and then formalize it with graphs, definitions, and step-by-step problem solving, so students can handle both conceptual questions and quantitative applications.
