Hello everyone! My name is Christina, and I am currently a Junior at Wentworth Institute of Technology studying Electromechanical Engineering with a minor in Physics. Being the typical type-A about my grades growing up, I was often asked to tutor friends and family on a wide variety of subjects ranging from math and science to language and even the SATs. However, my formal experience as a tutor began a year ago when I began tutoring Differential Equations, General Chemistry, and Engineering Physics at Wentworth to college-level students.
During my time, I completed the Level 1 International Tutor Training Program Certification through the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). I mostly did one-on-one tutoring, both online and in-person at Wentworth's Success Studio, and I am extremely grateful to say that a vast majority of the students I worked with often chose me again for their next session. I generally ask students if they know what approach best works for them - whether they prefer a teaching style where I guide them more, or a more hands-off approach where I just give them nudges in the right direction - depending on the subject and level; I prefer the student to lead the session, as it allows them to optimize their learning experience and create a space where the student feels comfortable and in control.
