hance to stand out. Be descriptive, be thorough, and be yourself as you tell potential students and parents about your ex when you can't seem "to get" the schoolwork no matter how hard you try. I have 5 years formal experience tutoring kids aged 6 to 16 in a variety of math concepts. I've spent countless hours with others on a less formal basis. I've tutored everything from number recognition to Algebra II. I've succeeded with both unmotivated students and students who feel lost or left behind in class. Success in school is about kids finding a way into the subject that works for them. Children each have their own way of learning and I will work with your unique learning style. I've helped kids work through frustration, inattention and anger - whatever makes it hard for them. I try to make their time enjoyable and challenging while being encouraging. I use real world examples to show the importance of what kids are learning.

I'm excited about learning and especially abohance to stand out. Be descriptive, be thorough, and be yourself as you tell potential students and parents about your ex

Hope I can be of help.

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

Algebra frightens lots of children and adults alike. It doesn't have to be that way. The difficulty many students experience comes from the cumulative nature of Algebra. It's important that concepts be returned to often and reinforced. This is not always possible in large classes. I can find the areas you may need as a base for continued learning and be sure you understand the mechanics of AND the reasons for the various operations needed in Algebra. I will watch carefully as students do their work and see where they hesitate and when they get off track. Often I find that students understand more than they think and are being caught up by simple errors. Give me a chance to help you understand and excel at this important subject.

AutoCAD

AutoCad is the most popular drafting software used in architecture and building engineering. I have many years experience using this software and training others to use it.
Geometry

Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel

SIMPLE TO ADVANCED EXCEL TRAINING I teach both operation and formatting in Excel. I can gear lessons toward your particular needs and have worked successfully with students who don't have a tremendous number sense. My approach in teaching software is to gauge your starting point, then look at your goals and together make a plan to accomplish them. Over the short term I can help a beginner become quick at making simple, readable spreadsheets that can be replicated as monthly, quarterly or annual reports. Most operations have an easy technique but you need to know what features are meant for your particular purposes and what doesn't need to be part of your knowledge. I can show you how to achieve a consistent look in your work and format spreadsheets so they are clear to read. Excel offers infinite options in formatting but for most purposes A few steps will make your charts and graphs informative and professional. I can also show you how to link workbooks and do complicated computations using Excel. I can teach you advanced formatting so color and typeface give your presentations added power. When used properly Excel can substitute for more complicated database software in some instances. No matter what your starting level or where you hope to end up we can create a plan that will work.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

Multiple ways to address algebra-Of all math areas this is the one where a person's thinking style is the key to learning concepts. Understanding variables and how to manipulate them, taking the fear and frustration out of problems by learning how to break them apart into simpler tasks. All this and more is important.
Study Skills

Study Skills

Knowing how to learn is a key to lifelong learning. Study skills are a big part of that. I've always hated watching students focus on the wrong goals in learning. Different forms of learning require different skills or discipline. I once had a student who claimed to be working hard on his math facts but when I called his bluff we both saw where the true problem lay. An all out offense on those facts and a short time later he was ready to do the real work. He succeeded beyond either of our expectations.
Vocabulary

Vocabulary

Work with K-8 students to increase their vocabulary through a variety of enjoyable activities. I emphasize word groups by subject area and through the student's personal interest. I use reading to expand vocabulary and help with prefixes and suffixes and how to tease the meaning of a complex word.

Amazing Math Guy!

Kevin has really helped my sixth grade son boost his math skills and his self-confidence. Reliable, and flexible, he keeps me posted with how the tutoring is going. I highly recommend Kevin because of his multi-intelligent approach(he engages kids where they are, and gives both space and support as they learn), and his seemingly endless patience.
