Physics/Math Instructor (PhD)

I am experienced, patient, knowledgeable and I love to teach physics and math. I have more than 15 years of teaching and tutoring experience including five years working as a high school physics and math instructor. In September 2021, I completed a PhD in condensed matter physics at Florida State University/National High Magnetic Field Laboratory. While in graduate school I was a TA every semester. The classes I taught included engineering physics and quantum mechanics. My dissertation research was in the area of superconducting electronics.

In addition to holding a PhD in physics, I graduated from Columbia University in NYC with a bachelors degree in applied physics. I also graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Masters degree in physics. While at Columbia University I was an undergraduate physics tutor. During my time at JHU I taught the undergraduate physics laboratory for 2 years. My masters thesis was in the field of non conventional superconductivity and neutron scattering.

After graduating from Johns Hopkins I spent five years working as a teacher at the York school, one of the top private high schools in California. I taught physics, AP physics, AP calculus, precalculus, 8th grade science and Java programming. I also have two years of industry experience working as an RF electrical engineer in silicon valley. I have many years of experience helping students prepare for the SAT and standardized tests. I scored a perfect score on the math portion of the GRE and I scored in the 93rd percentile of the physics GRE subject test.
